After months of shoping around and looking at campers all over the state of Georgia, we finally found our first camper at a dealership name Camper City. It was an older camper in the back of the lot but it was what Amanda and I were looking for and it was in our budget.
It may have had some water damage in the front end and a smell that we know we could get rid of, but we planned to have many great adventures in our new second home on wheels.
Our first camper was a 2002 Outback 28 BHS Lite-Way. This camper was 29' long with one large slide on the drivers side that included the dinette and couch. The camper weighed 4,940 pounds dry and had two axles.
After a few short trips in our new camper, we started to do repairs and make the camper ours. We started with ripping out all the water damaged spots in the master bedroom area. We decided to replace all the walls in the master bedroom with a beadboard material.
Once all the water damage was gone, Amanda got started picking colors and wall paper to make the camper look a little more modern.
In 2002, my senor year of high school, I always told my friends and family I wanted new 2002 Ford F250 7.3 Turbo Diesel 4X4 Truck that I could put on 40" Tires. Fast-forward to 2005, and I got my new to me 2002 Ford F250 7.3 Turbo Diesel 4X2 truck that had whatever tires I could afford.
The truck later got the nickname "Big Red" and served as a work truck during the day and a hauler on the weekends. I kept "Big Red" for another 13 years and put a couple hundred thousand miles on it before selling it. Luckily, my father bought it so it is still in the family.
